Effort wins First Place in Destin Christmas Parade
Frank Capra’s 1946 film “It’s a Wonderful Life” is one of the most beloved holiday classics of our time and brings to mind so many wonderful memories. It tells the story of George Bailey who spent his entire life selflessly giving of himself to the people of Bedford Falls. When faced with tragedy, George contemplates suicide believing he is “worth more dead than alive”. The prayers of George’s family, friends and all of those that he has helped throughout the years come to his aid in the form of a gentle angel named Clarence who comes to earth to help George. Clarence shows George how much his life means by showing him how the world would be without him. George realizes what he has accomplished and that things are never as bad as they seem.
SETCO Services championed this belief into the Destin Christmas Parade under the theme of “Movies with a Silver Lining” The effort spearheaded by Holly Jalbert and Pam Jarvis with a float illustrating that like George, the Destin community has been faced with serious adversity throughout the past year but as with George things are never as bad as they may seem.. George’s story provides each of us the individual opportunity to reflect on the things we have and how truly blessed we are to live and work in such a beautiful community as Destin. For us here it is truly “A Wonderful Life” and SETCO is proud to be a part of that community.
For their efforts, Holly, Pam and the SETCO team brought home their third first place trophy in the past six years winning out over nearly eighty entries.
Congratulations to Holly, Pam and the entire SETCO team for their continued excellence in community service.
